quotes Yes, it's possible to ride an Element like that. But should you? You could probably get at least 3-4 days of riding in like that before the bike fell to pieces. Case one landing and your rear wheel is already shot. Wouldn't a Giant Reign, Transition Covert, Trek Remedy, Specialized Enduro, etc be much more suitable for this type of riding? Or a Rocky Mountain Slayer if you want to stick with this company. These bikes were actually built to handle this type of riding. Does anyone else think Rocky Mountain is shooting themselves in the foot right now releasing a video of an Element being ridden way beyond it's usable potential? 25lb bike = garbage 30lb bike = money Not to take anything away from the riders. I liked the video, and am genuinely impressed with the level of skill. But I honestly do not believe Thomas and Wade would do this if it wasn't for marketing purposes. Unless Rocky Mountain gives them a new one to ride every week.

quotes Really! Incredible that the park is going to open on time with the amount of snow you have had this year. I'm actually going to ride for the first time of the year tomorrow. The trail I'm riding is completely dry as of 2 days ago. Last year, we couldn't ride this same trail until June. By upping the quality of the footage, do you mean keeping the camera more steady. That's the one issue I have with using the gopro for biking; you really have to concentrate on keeping your head steady, and pointed in the right direction. Every little bump in the trail is amplified. For snowmobiling, skiing and snowboarding it's not as much of an issue because there is not as much vibration. Maybe that's why my buddy's HD2 snowmobile footage was so good. I abandoned using 1080 shortly after I tried it out a few times when I initially bought the camera last summer and didn't like the FOV angle of that mode. I never thought to compare if it was shakier than 720p footage. Thanks for the offer Lee, but September is definitely the only time I can make my pilgrimage to Whistler. I manage the front desk at a hotel that's busy as hell from mid May to late September. Luckily the company I work for also owns Whistler Premier property management up there, so I get to stay for next to nothing in a nice townhome. I'm planning on coming up September 15th, hopefully for 2 full weeks. Man, I'd really like to ride that premium stuff though!

quotes Sweaty palms here too. Gloveless is some scary chit for me! Maybe not all, but definitely some of these people do it because they think it's cool. Gloves are cheap. I love the 661 Raji's and usually get them on sale for $15 or less a pair. I have 3 pairs. The palm is so thin, I can hardly tell it's there, but it keeps my wet hands from slipping off the grips.

quotes @wilkey. I agree. I think twebeast was being sarcastic with his comment.

quotes I don't mind the exercise of the hikes. Once I get to the bottom, I just want to ride more right away, and not have to wait while I walk back to the top. I would love to be able to shuttle there so I could just session top to bottom all day and get bike park levels of vertical. I'm spoiled. Where I live, we shuttle on a mountain pass with a 55mph limit. With the proper group, and planning, we can get more vertical than if it were lift served.

quotes I agree. I hope 27.5 succeeds, and 29 fails.

quotes Man, I hate when I put a bunch of thought into a response that I think will really help other people out, and then it seems like no one reads it! Leelau; I know you saw my response right? Do you agree? After seeing HD2 1080p footage compared to HD1 720p footage, I feel like my HD1 is worthless to me. I will have to upgrade. I am a huge High Def snob though, and notice lack of quality more than the average viewer. By the way, I did make it up to Whistler last fall. I got hooked up with a Montebello Townhome comped through the property management company I work for in Jackson, WY. It rained all but one day while we were there, but the riding was still amazing, and it got most of the gapers off the trails. You are a lucky man to live near that bike park!

quotes Do you mean the homeowner's on Black Rock road on the way to the parking lot? From what I remember, the only structures past the parking lot on Socialist Valley Road were camp Tapawingo related. The one positive to not being able to shuttle is that the trails automatically get less use. You can't just bang out laps; you have to work for it. I could hike Sunday Stroll to Brake Check all day long though. That line changed my life. I've literally had dreams about those jumps! I'll never forget seeing those gaps for the first time hiking up the road, and thinking to myself: There is no way I could hit all of those. Later that day, I spanked the entire line, and kept repeating until I could hardly move.
